Kitchen Prayers is a mixed media table-scape/still life on 1.5” thick gallery wrapped stretched canvas and framed in a matte gold 2” deep floating frame and ready to install in your home, office, or AirBnB. The first photo is a mock-up frame, but it looks very similar to the actual gold float frame this painting is mounted in. 

This 20x24 painting is a one of a kind mixed media piece combining acrylic paint, oil pastel, painted paper, and dried paint remnants. I love saving my scraps of paint from my palette and painted paper & then finding where I can incorporate them back into my artwork. I rarely paint over any added paint scraps or collaged paper- so what you see in a painting is merely the sheer joy of finding that “needle in a haystack” piece that fits JUST SO. (Every painting has a piece that feels almost too good to be true…. And for this piece, that perfect scrap is the stem on the left pear!) 

I love the concepts of reducing waste, reusing/ recycling….. but I also believe fully in the restoring of beauty from the mess… and believe that even the most untidy and seemingly ugly parts of our lives can be made whole and brought to a place of beauty.
