Everyday Blooms: Moonflower: September
Everyday Blooms: Moonflower: September
Each vibrant mixed-media floral painting measures approximately 6x7” on watercolor paper, mounted on 11x14” off-white mat board, ready to frame. Created with layers of acrylics, dried paint remnants from my palette, and painted paper scraps, these original works capture both spontaneity and charm. They reflect the simple beauty of the everyday blooms that brighten life’s corners—whether on daily walks, bouquets on countertops, or peeking through shop windows.
September: Moonflower
The moonflower, which each blossom only blooms once, and only blooms at night, represents mystery and quiet beauty. This painting captures the simple quiet beauty echoing the reflective and transitional nature of September evenings. I’ve also got a special place in my heart for moonflowers, as ours outgrew their pot and quit blooming just about the same time as we sent our freshman to college. This painting also symbolizes the stretching out of roots, digging deep into new soil, and finding space to bloom again.
